Description
Early 1990s. A group of students from the province meet to study in Thessaloniki. Life opens up before them. New experiences, quests, reflections, the first erotic sparks lead the young heroes on the difficult path to adulthood. The central characters Anestis, a first-year student from Halkidiki, with a special love for the history of his place, and the “teacher” with his mild-mannered features, will be the link between today and yesterday. A group project on local history will become the springboard to unfold unknown aspects of the Greek Revolution of 1821, but also elements of the tradition and folklore of our place. The theft of a brass statue from a monument next to the monastery of Agia Anastasia of Pharmakolytria will make us witness a subversive development. But also a tragic incident at the hospital will be the occasion to confront our sensitivities on contemporary social issues. All this in a marriage of history and fiction that emphasizes the value of going back to our roots if we want our present to come to fruition.
