Curricula and syllabuses are part of teachers’ everyday life. This research attempted to map teachers’ views and attitudes, particularly on language teaching, as proposed by the new CP (2011), which is in force as a supplementary guide, alongside the official APS – IEPP (2003), but also on AEPs in general. The participants of the survey, twenty-two teachers from the urban area of Thessaloniki, presented their opinions, concerns and daily life in the battle of literacy for their students. Their resources are their educational experience, their epistemological position and their ideological stance. The latter, as the research shows, influence their teaching and their attitude towards the new teaching proposals of the PC (2011). Teachers ask the state to provide them with new skills to respond to the new approaches through training. The analysis and processing of the teachers’ interviews obtained from the interview guides was carried out using the qualitative method by transcribing the recordings, coding, grouping and dividing them into thematic axes. The results of the research were analysed and contrasted with those of similar studies in order to draw conclusions capable of leading to a discussion from which new research questions will be generated.
