Pedagogical Anthropology. Necessity, possibilities and limits of education

The newspaper “Kathimerini” devoted a two-page article (pp. 26-27) on 2-7-2023, inviting selected teachers to answer the question: “what kind of teacher do we want in the age of the tablet?”. All the teachers who responded expressed very interesting views. Vana Dimou, a philologist at a private high school in Athens, gave the following answer: There is no ‘saving formula’. First of all, we have to define the kind of person we want to see coming out of today’s school. And that must be a person with a critical spirit, … who will adapt to the changeable world in which he or she will live. But alongside these cognitive skills, we need a humanistic counterweight that will act as a balancing factor and shield students’ social awareness …” This answer very aptly and succinctly gives the content of this book.
