In the street of refugee (in pontic dialect)

The narratives with real events of people of the first generation who spoke the Pontian dialect and conveyed their pains, sufferings, hopes and their efforts to put down roots in their new homeland. The texts are also rendered in modern Greek, so that they can be adopted by the younger generations, who in most cases are passive speakers of the dialect, understanding it but not speaking it. Our manners and customs are described in an Aristophanic way in many cases, as Pontic culture has an Aristophanes underlying. The poems transport the reader to ‘Pontos’ with the colours and flavours of the homeland. Memories as emeterts with pain, laughter, tears and nostalgia.
