The ancient Greeks in the northern Black Sea

From the foreword of the book: In the present book, our purpose is not to develop at length the history and culture of the ancient Greek states that appeared on the northern coast of the Black Sea coast, nor even the basic scientific problems and theories related to this subject. Our goal is more modest: to report the most important, old and modern information about this region of the ancient world, which for various reasons is almost unknown outside Russia, even to specialists. The historical and archaeological study that you hold in your hands is quite concise, but it is accompanied by a sufficient number of illustrations and a list of rich literature, mainly by Russian and Ukrainian researchers. We hope that we will help the reader to gain more knowledge relevant to the subject, and to orientate himself in the most basic archaeological quests.
