This novel is a testimony of the soul, which is why it is springy, alive, pure, like the gurgling water of a spring.
The author’s thoughts are like a sharpened blade; his visions, visions of thousands of people all over the world, who have given and are giving their blood to succeed. And all of it, masterfully interwoven with the legend about his grandmother, the Virgin. It was for her that he made the journey to Pontus to bring her her “rosaf’onon”.
He returns from his trip to Pontus, and the words of the Turkish officer at the customs office, who did not let him take the tree, the “rhodaf’non”, for his grandmother, roll around in his mind and fill him with sadness: “Life is not transferred from one place to another. That’s why people made borders. So that lives would not be violated. ‘What belongs here…’.
The author leaves and adds a new aspiration to his visions: to change the world, to tear down borders, to open up roads so that trees and lives can be transported freely. And if for the moment there are black clouds in the sky, who knows? Maybe tomorrow a wind will blow and scatter them and our world will be a better place.
